Moore County Hospital District and its services and providers do not solicit or pay money to be considered for any award or recognition. As such, all recognition listed below was awarded based solely on MCHD performance.
2024 & 2025 CHARTIS NATIONAL TOP 100 CRITICAL ACCESS HOSPITAL
MCHD placed in the top 100 overall critical access hospitals in the nation two years in a row. The top 100 CAHs achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance.
2022, 2023, 2024, & 2025 CHARTIS PERFORMANCE LEADERSHIP AWARD
MCHD received the CHARTIS Performance Leadership Award for three years in a row. The Performance Leadership Awards recognize top quartile performance among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and Patient Perspective.
2023 & 2024 NATIONAL TOP 20 CRITCAL ACCESS HOSPITAL IN QUALITY
MCHD placed 9th out of over 1,300 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) nationwide for quality in 2023 and 13th in 2024 as determined by the Chartis Center for Rural Health for Quality.
The top 20 CAHs achieved success in overall performance based on a composite rating from eight indices of strength: inpatient market share, outpatient market share, quality, outcomes, patient perspective, cost, charge, and finance. This group was selected from the Chartis Center for Rural Health’s top 100 CAH list. MCHD achieved success in the following key area of performance:
Quality index: A rating of hospital performance based on the percentile rank across rural-relevant process of care measures.
2025 & 2026 5-STAR HONOR ROLL RATING – NATIONAL RURAL RATING SYSTEM
Open to all U.S. rural medical facilities, this prestigious recognition is based on ratings submitted by October with the Honor Roll revealed in November. Honorees earn a 12-month distinction contingent on maintaining high patient experience ratings that meet the set standards. It’s a badge of honor, showcasing hospitals that go above and beyond in delivering exceptional care.
GUARDIAN OF EXCELLENCE AWARD
The Press Ganey Guardian of Excellence Award is a health care industry symbol of achievement. Fewer than 5% of all Press Ganey clients reach this threshold and consistently maintain it for the one year reporting period. Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities, including more than half of all U.S. hospitals, to measure and improve the patient experience.
MCHD has received this award in 2013, 2019, 2021, and 2024 for Employee Satisfaction/Engagement. In 2024 , MCHD was also recognized for Physician Engagement.
US NEWS & WORLD REPORT
The Memorial Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Nursing Home, a service of MCHD, was recognized as a Top Performing Nursing Home by US News and Word Report in 2022/2023, 2023/2024, & 2025/2026. This award places MNRC in the in the top 5% of more than 15,000 nursing homes in the state based on resident care, safety, and outcomes; infection rates; staffing; and health inspections.
2023 TEXAS EMS AGENCY OF THE YEAR
MCHD EMS was awarded the 2023 Texas EMS Agency of the Year Award
2024 DISTINGUISHED DESIGNATION FOR EARLY HEARING DETECTION AND PREVENTION
MCHD Women’s Services received the Distinguished Designation for their efforts in hearing detection and prevention in newborns
RURAL HEALTHCARE ORGANIZATION PIONEER AWARD
In 2025 MCHD Population Health & Telenursing was recognized as Rural Healthcare Organization Pioneers for their groundbreaking work developing a population telehealth program to address our community’s need for continuing healthcare at home.
2024 SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE AWARD
MCHD Materials Management was awarded the 2024, 2025, & 2026 Supply Chain Excellence Award by Alliant Purchasing for streamlined and optimized supply chain processes resulting in medical supply efficiency which contributes to advancing healthcare delivery and patient care.

Studer Group® is an organization that works with over 800 healthcare organizations in the U.S. and beyond, teaching them how to achieve, sustain, and accelerate exceptional clinical, operational, and financial outcomes. Studer Group awards one rural organization and one urban organization the Healthcare Organization of the Month based on the organization’s performance. MCHD was selected as the Healthcare Organization of the Month for May 2013.

HOMECARE ELITE AWARD – MEMORIAL HOME HEALTH & HOSPICE
The HomeCare Elite Award was compiled using publicly available data from the CMS Home Health Compare and CMS cost reports. The HomeCare Elite also recognizes the Top 100 and Top 500 providers nationwide. Now in its tenth year, the HomeCare Elite™ recognition program lists the top 25 percent of home health agencies in the country. Memorial Home Health Received the award in 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
